In the footsteps of the violinist Karel Halíř

The goal of the thesis "In the footsteps of the violinist Karel Halíř" is to provide a comprehensive overview of the life of the violinist Karel Halíř. The work progresses chronologically from birth till his passing and each chapter deals with a certain life period of the violinist. The work brings us information about Halíř's professional life, career and it also touches his personal and family life.
Personality of Eugèn Ysaÿe

This disertation turns its focus to one of the most significant personage of violin history. It portrays Eugène Ysaÿe not only as an interpret, conductor and pedagogist, but also as unconventional composer which established underlying milestone influented violin techniques of 20th century. We will point out to amity with leading artistic personalities which affected not only his evolution as composer. On musical examples, we will demonstrate his musical language, composition technique and personal input. This work should serve as complex oversight of Ysaÿe's life and persisting legacy.

This thesis is a study of one of the greatest violinists of the 19th century, Joseph Joachim. The person, his compositions and the collaboration between himself and the many composers that composed for him will be examined from a variety of perspectives. In addition, the violin school that he created with his assistant Andreas Moser will be analysed. Here we will see his pedagogic actions, as well as his music aesthetics and his method of interpretation. In particular it is this, his ground-breaking new interpretation that makes him to be one of the most important musicians of his time. The goal of the thesis is to show a portrait of Joseph Joachim in the context of music history.
The effect of manual therapy of the cervical spine on standing balance of violinists measured by CDP

Title: The effect of manual therapyof the cervical spine on standingbalance of violinists measured by CDP Objectives: The intention of this thesis is to describe most frequent functional changes of musculoskeletal apparatus of violinists. Secondly, to track and react to these changes with appropriate manual there of the cervical spine. Thirdly, to find out if this therapy has an effect maintaining postural stability by testing on a posturograph using the SOT protocol. Methods: This is a pilot study that uses subjective and objective examinations. Subjectively, the functional changes of the musculoskeletal apparatus were examined and then their frequency within the proband group was evaluated (n = 10, 2 men and 8 women). Within the objective examination, 15 parameters of postural stability were monitored under certain conditions. Using the Wilcoxon Pair Test, situations before and after manual therapy of the cervical spine were compared. The statistical significance level was set to α = 0.05 for this test. Results: The study has shown that violinists have some functional changes in the musculoskeletal apparatus in common. Their most frequent blockade is AO joint (9 out of 10 violins), the most common hypertonus can be found in flexors of the forearm of the left hand (9 out of10) andthetrapezius and...

SUMMARY: The thesis contains a description, analysis and subsequent comparison of selected czech violin schools for the beginners. The final assessment is based on several criteria such as efficiency and speed of acquisition of violin techniques by the student, student's development of musicality, as well as the aesthetic and musical motivation.
Bohuslav Matoušek: violinist by body and soul

This thesis introduces to its readers artistic and professional life of Bohuslav Matoušek, outstanding renowned czech violinist and pedagogue. It also describes his great successes in the field of music recordings, the most it zooms on recording and production of the complete works of Bohuslav Martinů for concertante violin (and viola). This extraordinary set of complete works by Martinů had a great success worldwide, because of that I also attach excerpts of reviews and critique from abroad. These are followed by listing the most significant solo recordings and some of the interviews for Czech press. At the very end this thesis contains an analysis of Mr. Matoušek‘s recording of the violin concerto in D major Op. 77 by Johannes Brahms from 1988.
